Samuelisms

Since Samuel turned two he has amazed us with his vocabulary and the amount of talking he does. We've always tried to talk to him like he's a little person and not a baby. We make an effort to describe and explain as much to him as we can so he can build his own vocabulary. Instead of just telling him NO we try to explain to him why he can't do or have something. I also like to talk to Samuel about what the plans are for the day and tell him what to expect. Every night Mike and Samuel talk about what happened during the day before he goes to bed.

Samuel is such a character because he's gotten used to some of the things we tell him and he says them before we have a chance to like.....

When he's done eating
"I all done lunch"  he says this for every meal.

After Breakfast and Dinner he says
"Wash hands, Brush teeth"

When he's going to bed he says
"I sleep? Mama sleep? Daddy Sleep?"
"Night Raven. Night Jackson. Night Mama. Night Daddy"

When he wants to touch something he's not suppose to.. like our computers, our drawers in our room or my purse... he says
"Mama Only" or "Daddy Only"

 "I play Mama's purse?"
Samuel also says some of the cutest and funniest things...
I love it when he says "Hold you Mama. Hold you Daddy"

"Mama tummy big. Baby Owen in Mama tummy"

"I teach Baby Owen....." fill in the blank with just about anything he does

When we are in the car he's says
"I go in there?" to every place we pass

"I go in Choo Choo Train?"

"I go in playground?"

"Country Naked". This is one of the funniest things he says because he's trying to say MUSIC but he always says NAKED instead. We have no idea why but it's pretty funny when he does.

"Gas. Gas makes car go."

"Baseball Game?"

Some of Samuel's every day sayings
"Hi Mama! Hi Daddy" he says this to us first thing in the morning and all throughout the day. I love, love, love it. Even if he just saw us 5 seconds ago he says Hi to us.

"What's that? What's that?" to every noise he hears.

"I touch dog poop?"  Not sure what this is about exactly.

"Brown Chicken Cow" = Brown Chicken. Brown Cow-  Mike's been teaching him this one.

"Nack?" = Snack

"Bopper" = Diaper

"Kuch" = Truck

"Santa Trees" = Christmas Lights   not sure how he came up with that one but it's pretty darn cute.

There are so many more things he says that are just so, so cute. When he's getting his shoes on, or jacket on or putting his sunglasses on he always makes sure that we are doing the same thing.
He'll say "Daddy shoes? Mama Sunglasses?"

As you can imagine he is repeating everything. Just today I said "Hi Cutie Pie!" and he said right back to me "Hi Cutie Pie."

He basically talks from the moment he wakes up til he goes to bed. Of course, some days this can be overwhelming but overall we love to listen to what he has to say and what he's going to come up with.
