More obstacles for little Sammy

Our little guy is back in the ICU room again. One of the nurses commented to me today that he is earning frequent flyer miles going back and forth between the ICU and Step Down rooms. He's givng us wrinkles and grey hairs is what I see happening. Every time he has to be put back in the ICU it is unnerving. I wish they would just keep him in one place until right before he is ready to come home.. which seems to be getting later and later the more problems he has.
They said it would be a roller coaster ride and it sure has been one. Overall, he is doing better than most babies that are born at only 28 weeks but he still has his issues which need to be addressed.
He is having the same basic problem with his stomach being swollen but no breathing problems this time. Thank God for that. He is really gassy (sounds like his daddy actually) They are trying to figure out if he has a disease that is souce of his problems or maybe as simple as it being something that I ate that was present in my breastmilk. He is back on IV fluids only again which is a major strain on his liver plus they are watching his red bloodcell production and making sure he isn't anemic..which could lead to a blood transfusion.
SO we have a lot going on as you can tell. They may have to do a biopsy of his colon tomorrow which sounds awful. I feel so bad that he has to go through so much at such a young age. He is a fighter though and despite everything they are doing to him he never cries and is very active.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Hi Tara, I had lunch with Dana and Trisha today and Dana told me about Samuel's latest challenges. Please know how very often I think of all three of you and I am sending positive energy, prayers, and loving thoughts your way. Thank you for your amazing updates. One of the greatest gifts you have already given Sammy is his mama's feistiness and can-do attitude!! God bless you all!
