Birds of Prey

We attended a presentation about famous birds of prey at the Bob Jones Nature Center in Southlake. It was really cool. The birds flew right over our heads. Samuel did a great job of sitting and watching what was going on. He's becoming such a bog boy. ;)
The Welshs with a Great Horned Owl.. totally cool.
The Great Horned Owl looks like it would be really heavy but it only weighs 3 pounds.

Samuel is really into all the fancy gadgets his family has. Here Mariah and Samuel are playing a game on her iTouch.
Aunt Desiree snatched Samuel's nene from him and was running around the house with it. She's crazy and we love it.

 Hugs for sweet Riley.
We had Thanksgiving at our house this year and it was a lot of fun. We kept Raven in our room behind a gate and she sat leaned against the gate with this pitiful face for the longest time. Poor Raven.

Little Brother

We found out a couple days ago that we are having another boy. We are excited that Samuel with have a playmate. Most of all, we are hopeful that this little one will wait til his due date and not be so eager to enter the world like his Big Brother! ;)

Happy 2nd Birthday Samuel!!!!

I can't believe Samuel is two-years-old! Other parents have told me that the time goes by fast and I think you truly don't understand that until you are actually a parent. Of course, there are long days and nights but overall the past two years have seemed like a blur in so many ways. It's hard to remember what life was like before Samuel. He has brought more joy to our lives than I ever expected possible. Of course, the fact that he is a preemie is always in the back of our minds but miraculously Samuel's development and health have not been affected. We are truly blessed.

This is the official Welsh Birthday Hat (that everyone gets to wear on their Special Day their own special way).

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

This year we decided to dress as characters from the children's book, Good Night Gorilla! The story is about a Zookeeper (Me) who walks through the zoo telling the animals Good Night. The first animal is the Gorilla (Monica) who takes the Zookeeper's keys and unlocks the cages of all the animals. The animals follow the Zookeeper home and get into bed with him and his wife (Mike). When his wife says Good Night Dear.. all the animals say Good Night too. It startles her and she takes them all back to the zoo but the Gorilla and his friend, the mouse, follow the wife back home and get into bed with her and the Zookeeper again. Samuel dressed up as an elephant and Mariah was a giraffe which are some of the animals in the book. It was a lot of fun.
Samuel trying to figure out what Mariah is dressed up as.
After Trick-Or-Treating we came back to the house and I put Samuel's Spider outfit on him that he wore last year.  He really enjoyed his spider outfit. He was so good about wearing the hat and he kept his elephant hat on too. He had fun walking up to the houses and getting candy. You could barely hear him say thank you but he would say Byeeee really loud and wave. I wasn't sure how he would do with getting candy and leaving it in his candy pail but he did great. He didn't try to eat any of it until we got home. He is such an awesome little boy.
Mike and Mariah before their 5k race at Mariah's school. It ended up getting rained out. Lucky them!
 Andy and Samuel hanging out.

Good Times at the Pumpkin Farm

Samuel feeding a cow for the first time. We went on a hayride and got to stop and feed cows and donkeys. It was really neat.
Emily got really slobbered by the cows. YUCK!
Samuel wasn't really interested in petting the donkeys.
Getting three kids under the age of 5 to look at the camea at the same time is IMPOSSIBLE!!!
 COOL TRACTOR!
