A Day Out with Thomas

Samuel's first train ride!! I'm not sure if he was more excited about going on the Choo Choo Train or taking the shuttle bus to the event.
Samuel having fun in the bouncy house. It had a slide too, which he loved.
 There's Thomas!!!
There were lots of kids (mostly boys) at the event and Samuel wasn't too sure about the ones that were really loud and crying.
There was a huge sandbox with lots of dump trucks and toys to play with.
Samuel on the train. He did great just sitting on Mike's lap enjoying the ride.
Finally, a smile we caught on camera!
Samuel looks really unhappy in this picture but he really did have a good time. It was a beautiful day and there were lots of activities for the kids to do. I highly recommend going!

Doctor Samuel checking on the baby. We go through the same routine everyday. He gets his doctor's bag out and listens to the baby's heartbeat and then checks my ears. He says "Butterflies, Cantalope" when he looks in my ears and makes a heartbeat noise when he listens to my belly.
Getting my boots on so I can walk Uncle Sam outside. We didn't bother with any pants. ;)
Watching daddy mow the lawn while I enjoy a snack.
Samuel enjoyed helping Granddad and Daddy put in new French doors to the office which will soon become his new room.
Big helper. Samuel was so funny running around with his hammer, drill and saw helping out.
Samuel is very interested in what our neighbors are doing. ;) He's watching our neighbor's yard get mowed.
Watching videos on daddy's phone.

Mariah's 8th Birthday 3-14-11

Good times on the carousel with Mariah and Monica.
We took Mariah to Rainforest Cafe and they had her get up on a chair and do the Chicken Dance while they sang Happy Birthday to her.
Mariah got an American Doll for her birthday.

Baby Belly Art

Good Lord, I'm huge!!!

Our Lil' Gardner

There's nothing Samuel loves better than getting dirty. He did great helping us work out in the yard.
Really.. could he be any cuter?!
Samuel's filling in the hole where Raven had been digging.
Dinner with the neighbors.
Of course, Samuel couldn't resist playing in the baby's bouncer. What a turkey!!

Samuelisms

Since Samuel turned two he has amazed us with his vocabulary and the amount of talking he does. We've always tried to talk to him like he's a little person and not a baby. We make an effort to describe and explain as much to him as we can so he can build his own vocabulary. Instead of just telling him NO we try to explain to him why he can't do or have something. I also like to talk to Samuel about what the plans are for the day and tell him what to expect. Every night Mike and Samuel talk about what happened during the day before he goes to bed.

Samuel is such a character because he's gotten used to some of the things we tell him and he says them before we have a chance to like.....

When he's done eating
"I all done lunch"  he says this for every meal.

After Breakfast and Dinner he says
"Wash hands, Brush teeth"

When he's going to bed he says
"I sleep? Mama sleep? Daddy Sleep?"
"Night Raven. Night Jackson. Night Mama. Night Daddy"

When he wants to touch something he's not suppose to.. like our computers, our drawers in our room or my purse... he says
"Mama Only" or "Daddy Only"

 "I play Mama's purse?"
Samuel also says some of the cutest and funniest things...
I love it when he says "Hold you Mama. Hold you Daddy"

"Mama tummy big. Baby Owen in Mama tummy"

"I teach Baby Owen....." fill in the blank with just about anything he does

When we are in the car he's says
"I go in there?" to every place we pass

"I go in Choo Choo Train?"

"I go in playground?"

"Country Naked". This is one of the funniest things he says because he's trying to say MUSIC but he always says NAKED instead. We have no idea why but it's pretty funny when he does.

"Gas. Gas makes car go."

"Baseball Game?"

Some of Samuel's every day sayings
"Hi Mama! Hi Daddy" he says this to us first thing in the morning and all throughout the day. I love, love, love it. Even if he just saw us 5 seconds ago he says Hi to us.

"What's that? What's that?" to every noise he hears.

"I touch dog poop?"  Not sure what this is about exactly.

"Brown Chicken Cow" = Brown Chicken. Brown Cow-  Mike's been teaching him this one.

"Nack?" = Snack

"Bopper" = Diaper

"Kuch" = Truck

"Santa Trees" = Christmas Lights   not sure how he came up with that one but it's pretty darn cute.

There are so many more things he says that are just so, so cute. When he's getting his shoes on, or jacket on or putting his sunglasses on he always makes sure that we are doing the same thing.
He'll say "Daddy shoes? Mama Sunglasses?"

As you can imagine he is repeating everything. Just today I said "Hi Cutie Pie!" and he said right back to me "Hi Cutie Pie."

He basically talks from the moment he wakes up til he goes to bed. Of course, some days this can be overwhelming but overall we love to listen to what he has to say and what he's going to come up with.

In the Dark, In the Dark

Samuel, Averie and Mariah enjoyed running through the house with glowsticks. Samuel kept saying "In the Dark. In the Dark." It was hilarious. They loved dancing in Samuel's room with the lights off and their glowsticks in hand. What a fun, fun life!

Samuel's First Trip to the Ocean

We decided to take a trip to Corpus Christi to visit our friends before the baby arrives. We wanted to spend some quality time with Samuel and let him experience the ocean as well. He dived right in!
Samuel and daddy headed for the ocean.

I put Samuel's boots on him so he could enjoy walking in the water. Of course, by the time we left he was drenched from head to toe and he had sand every where.

The wind was so strong that Samuel had a hard time standing up. He went face first into the water a couple times but he just got up and kept playing.

 Happy, Happy Boy!!!

Our buds Mike and Shaunna!!!
Thank you Dude and Joan for planning a baby shower for us. We loved your gift of the baby clothes on a clothes line. Too cute.
